Yeah there’s no way Rovers are really letting him go early for family reasons or anything like that, They’ll have something lined up and want to shift him. Said when Salford first asked for the advance Rovers will see Evalds as the weak link and that they’ll make a move for Macdonald and put him straight in at fullback, doubt they’ll shift Hiku back. Either that or they’ll get Morgue early.

It was never made official but apparently the clubs voted (including Salford) to grant exemptions for quota players for a year. The reason it never happened was Salford simply refused to sell anyone. If any exemptions were voided when they lifted the restrictions for a week is anyone’s guess. If Salford say they need to sell a couple of high earning players to balance the books I’d imagine they’ll allow exemptions.
