The Vaughan signing and Walters move to prop make a bit more sense now. As things stand we'd look to have Havard, Thompson, Dupree, Mago and Walters as our first choice props, with back up from Eseh, Makin and McDermott. In the second row we'll have Faz, Nsemba, Vaughan, Hirst and Mason. Guys like Chan and Kerr and probably cover a bit of second row/loose forward. Looking at that, I would probably want to target one experienced signing to come in. I'd probably go for a second rower but you could go for a prop and then move Walters back to second row if needed. If Eseh and Chan were let go, then you'd need one of each IMO. 

I presume we'll have Vaughan and Sambou next year to compete, and hopefully Hirst as well.

Sutton has just been released by Canterbury................

Shame Harvie is heading off especially as it looked like he would lots of game time with Liam leaving.  Hull have picked up a good player.  Imagine he's been offered a pretty big contract.


Nice to see Hull looking like they are heading in the right direction, much better for the competition.

You wouldn't have thought it could be justified given his injury record but then Luke Thompson had a comparable record at Canterbury.

Even without the injuries, it would be a no from me. He's a decent player but I think we've moved past that group of players (Sutton, Gildart, Burgess etc) who seemed to see Wigan as a stepping stone. We've had better players in recent seasons, who haven't seemed to share that view and playing for this club isn't a privilege you should get again, after giving it up so easily in the first place. Maybe you'd make an exception for the very best but not for reasonable players like Sutton.
